there are ```home``` and ```homes``` folder. They are created to be used by some app such as Drive. ```home``` is the user directory for current user, while ```homes``` contains the home directory for all users.

VLC on iOS, cannot connect, keep asking for username and password.
The problem might be the file sharing configuration. Try to set SMB sharing to accept all type, SMB1 till SMB3.
