# Time & Delay

**Different control system requires different スピード感.** Driving a car at high speed along a winding road requires quick responses. An oil tanker has very different dynamics and responds so slowly that “driving” it requires the person to predict the future course of the ship.

**Good design harmonizes the delays of people and technology.** Some activities, such as clicking on an icon, require the system to respond within 100 ms, but other activities, such as rendering a page of a website can take several seconds without disrupting a person’s task
